The Electro-Voice EKX-15 Passive Speaker is constructed with a formidable 15mm plywood cabinet, finished with a durable, road-ready EVCoat. This robust enclosure is designed to withstand the rigors of frequent transport and live performance, providing a stable acoustic platform that minimizes unwanted resonance. Internally, the speaker features high-quality crossover components and robust internal bracing, ensuring signal integrity and longevity even under demanding operating conditions. The professional-grade finish not only looks sleek but also offers significant protection against scuffs and scratches, maintaining its aesthetic appeal gig after gig.
Ergonomically, the EKX-15 Passive Speaker is designed for practical deployment. Its intelligent weight distribution and strategically placed handles make it manageable for a single person to transport and set up, a crucial consideration for mobile DJs and touring bands in Nairobi. While offering substantial power, its footprint is optimized for versatility, fitting easily onto speaker stands or within various stage setups without dominating the space. This thoughtful design, combined with its impressive audio output, makes it a more practical and acoustically superior choice compared to many bulkier, less refined alternatives on the market, and it integrates seamlessly with other pro audio gear like amplifiers in Nairobi.
At the heart of the Electro-Voice EKX-15 Passive Speaker lies its custom-engineered 15-inch woofer and a 1-inch DH-1M titanium compression driver. The woofer is designed for extended low-frequency response and high output, capable of producing powerful bass down to 50 Hz (-10 dB). The DH-1M compression driver, coupled with a precise 90° x 60° Cardioid-pattern pole-mountable waveguide, delivers clear, articulate high frequencies with excellent dispersion. This combination ensures a balanced frequency response from 60 Hz to 18 kHz (±3 dB), providing a full-range sound ideal for both music reproduction and speech reinforcement, all within a manageable PA speakers in Kenya package.
The real-world impact of these custom transducers is profoundly audible. For live bands performing in Nairobi's vibrant music scene, this means crisp vocal reproduction that cuts through the mix, punchy bass lines that drive the rhythm, and detailed instrument separation. Churches will appreciate the clarity for spoken word and choir performances, ensuring every message is delivered with impact and intelligibility. For any setup requiring accurate sound reproduction without the complexities of an active speaker, the Electro-Voice EKX-15 Passive Speaker offers a pure, uncolored signal path, making it a favorite for those who prefer to control their sound with external amplifiers and mixers in Nairobi.
The Electro-Voice EKX-15 Passive Speaker utilizes a high-quality passive crossover network, meticulously designed to ensure optimal integration between the woofer and the compression driver. This network features robust components and precise tuning to achieve a seamless transition between frequency ranges, minimizing phase distortion and maximizing overall sonic coherence. With a crossover frequency set at 1.7 kHz, it ensures that the critical mid-range frequencies are handled with precision by both drivers, contributing to the speaker's exceptional vocal intelligibility and musical accuracy.
This sophisticated passive crossover is crucial for achieving the legendary Electro-Voice sound, especially when paired with the right external amplifier. It allows sound engineers and musicians in Kenya to fine-tune their system's overall sonic character using their chosen amplifier and mixers in Nairobi. The design prioritizes signal purity, ensuring that the audio signal remains clean and uncompromised from the source to the listener's ears, a critical factor for professional audio applications like live concerts, corporate events, and studio monitoring where fidelity is non-negotiable. It also means the speaker is highly efficient and can be driven hard without introducing unwanted artifacts, making it a great choice for demanding live sound scenarios.
The Electro-Voice EKX-15 Passive Speaker is equipped with two professional-grade Neutrik Speakon NL4 connectors, ensuring secure and reliable signal transmission. These industry-standard connectors provide a robust connection, minimizing the risk of signal loss or disconnection during live performances. The speaker is also designed with multiple mounting options, including a standard 35mm pole mount socket for easy placement on speaker stands, and integrated M10 rigging points for suspended installations. This versatility makes it adaptable to a wide array of deployment scenarios, from portable DJ setups to permanent installations in venues across Nairobi.
This thoughtful connectivity and rigging flexibility are essential for sound system designers and live sound engineers operating in Kenya. Whether you need to fly the speakers for optimal coverage in a large hall, mount them on poles for a mobile DJ setup, or integrate them into a complex stage monitoring system, the EKX-15 Passive Speaker offers the solutions. Its compatibility with standard rigging hardware and its robust Speakon connections ensure that it can be seamlessly integrated into virtually any professional audio setup, working perfectly with external amplifiers in Nairobi and high-quality microphones in Nairobi.
The Electro-Voice EKX-15 Passive Speaker is competitively priced at KES 27000.00, offering exceptional value for its professional-grade performance and robust build quality.
