Available at City Sounds Nairobi for KES 55000.00, this mixing console offers professional-grade audio quality and robust build for demanding users.
Allen & Heath is a name synonymous with audio excellence, boasting decades of experience in designing professional mixing consoles that are trusted by sound engineers worldwide. The ZED-16FX builds on this legacy, offering a compact yet powerful solution that punches well above its weight class. Its intuitive layout and comprehensive feature set make it a standout choice in the crowded market of mixers in Nairobi, delivering the renowned Allen & Heath sonic character and reliability.
In Kenya, the Allen & Heath ZED-16FX Professional Studio Mixer USB is particularly sought after by churches, live bands, small recording studios, and educational institutions. Purchasing genuine equipment from City Sounds on Luthuli Avenue ensures you receive a product backed by a full warranty and dedicated customer support, avoiding the pitfalls of grey market imports. We understand the specific needs of the Kenyan pro audio scene and stock only the best gear, making us the go-to studio equipment Nairobi retailer.
The ZED-16FX is built with the ruggedness expected from an Allen & Heath product, featuring a robust metal chassis designed to withstand the rigors of constant use, whether in a fixed installation or on the road. The high-quality PCB construction and professional-grade faders and rotary potentiometers ensure smooth operation and long-term durability, providing a tactile and reliable user experience that is crucial for live sound mixing and studio work.
Ergonomically, the mixer is designed for intuitive operation, with a logical layout that places essential controls within easy reach, minimizing the learning curve for new users. Its relatively compact footprint, measuring 676 x 91 x 460 mm, and a net weight of 8.5 kg make it manageable for transportation, striking an excellent balance between comprehensive features and portability, unlike larger, less practical consoles. This makes it an ideal mixer in Nairobi for venues with limited space or mobile setups.
At the heart of the ZED-16FX are its exceptional D-PRE microphone preamplifiers, engineered to deliver an incredibly wide frequency range and accurate transient response. These preamps offer a very low noise floor, with an equivalent input noise of -127dBu, ensuring that even subtle details are captured with clarity. The high headroom and linearity provided by these preamps mean that your microphones will sound their best, whether you are recording vocals, instruments, or capturing a live performance.
In the demanding environment of Kenyan music production and live sound, these superior preamps translate directly into a more professional and polished final product. For churches aiming for clear vocal intelligibility during sermons or bands seeking a punchy and detailed live mix, the ZED-16FX delivers unparalleled performance. This superior audio quality is a hallmark of Allen & Heath, setting it apart from many competitors in the microphones in Nairobi and mixer market.
The ZED-16FX features a comprehensive built-in digital effects processor, offering a range of 16 studio-quality reverbs, delays, choruses, and flangers. Each effect can be easily accessed and tweaked using the dedicated parameter controls, allowing for creative sound shaping in real-time. The effects are designed to be musically inspiring, adding depth and character to vocals, instruments, or the overall mix without the need for external processing units.
This integrated effects engine is a significant advantage for bands performing at Nairobi clubs, DJs at weddings, or even home studio enthusiasts looking to add polish to their recordings. The ability to apply high-quality reverb to a vocalist or delay to a guitar solo directly from the mixing console simplifies the setup and enhances the performance experience. This makes the Allen & Heath ZED-16FX Professional Studio Mixer USB a complete solution for many audio needs in Kenya, reducing the need for additional DJ equipment Kenya or effects racks.
The ZED-16FX boasts a flexible I/O configuration, including 16 channels comprising 10 mono mic/line inputs with XLR and TRS connectors, and 3 stereo line inputs with dual TRS connectors. Phantom power (+48V) is available across all mic preamps, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of condenser microphones in Nairobi. The mixer also includes dedicated main outputs, auxiliary sends, and a control room output for flexible monitoring and routing.
Furthermore, the integrated 16-channel USB audio interface allows for multi-track recording and playback directly to and from a computer, with a sample rate of up to 48kHz and a bit depth of 24-bit. This feature is invaluable for Nairobi-based producers and engineers looking to capture individual tracks for mixing in their Digital Audio Workstation (DAW). The USB connectivity streamlines the recording process, making the Allen & Heath ZED-16FX Professional Studio Mixer USB a powerful hub for both live performance and studio production.
